In Broward County as of March 30, 2010 a website was launched which officials say could allow them to sell more than twice as many homes each month. Broward County had the third highest foreclosure rate in Florida for February 2010, according to RealtyTrac Inc. The County Clerk Howard C. Forman said his office might be able to auction 1,000 homes a week. In January, 420 properties were auctioned weekly at the courthouse.
Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties took foreclosure auctions online earlier this year.
